Realizing that some of our members, not of Ben Carson, Gwendolyn Brooks, Henry Gates, or President Barack Obama type material, or wealth possibly benefited from programs offered by community services designed to assist the less fortunate resulted in our rethinking the purpose of our existence. The vision and endeavor of the Buffalo Troopers MC of Chicago has since become twofold.
Those who have benefited from such programs have proved that they were instrumental in positively effecting and redirecting the lives of those in need. Such programs exist because someone cared enough to establish and devote time and money to a worthy cause.
Have you ever considered what happens when our youth are gun-down on the violent streets of our cities? Yes, the family grieves and will forever feel the loss of a loved one. But, even though you don’t personally know that child, young man or woman that died only a few or hundreds of miles away doesn’t mean that the losses are meaningless you. As a member of society you also grieve their senseless and tragic loss. Who would they have become if they had been blessed with the opportunity of living long lives? What accomplishments might they have achieved and contributed to the world, their communities or families had they lived? It is through our COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK that the members of the BTMC give back to the communities that fostered their development. Occasionally in partnership with other organizations we strive to make a difference in the lives of our disadvantaged community brothers. With the backing of our 501(c) 3 status we are able to better serve our communities by:
• volunteering time to a worthy cause
• sponsor fundraising events in support of community contributions
• offering charitable contributions
• awarding scholarship
• back to school supply give-away
• make appearances as a unit at worthy functions includes other functions that advocate for those of our communities who are less fortunate.
